Head Held High (http://head-held-high.org) is a collective of everyday persons with intentions to eradicate poverty, by changing one life at a time. They empowers changemakers to create bold and enterprising visions to amplify their effect against poverty.
Recently G R A N D M A R K & Associates supported them in one of their initiatives to further empower their change makers and get them registration u/s 12A of the Indian Income Tax act. Benefits available to NGO’s post 12A registration are:-
- NGO can accumulate or set aside of income upto 15% and no tax is payable on it.
- Obtaining grants from government and other agencies becomes easier as 12A registered NGO’s are preferred.
- The NGo can apply for 80G registration, give gives income tax benefits to the donors.
We held two sessions for changemakers in Osmanabad, Maharashtra and Koppal, Karnataka where we are helping more than 30 NGO’s with completing the registration formalities for 12A.
Our Bangalore office took the lead and sent a team to both the locations, where they held day long workshops with the NGO’s educating them about the process for obtaining 12A registration, what documents are needed and reviewed and collected the documents from the NGO who needed our support.
The changemakers were very engaged and had a number of questions for our team. The team is now working to complete the 12A application for all the NGO’s and is interacting with them on a regular basis.
